there are those that after being through a situation, respond with: "Could've been worse"
...give it some thought...
look at the above pic and you tell me who goes with each phrase.
reason i say this, is because it's kind of shows the persons outlook on life. if they are more bamf, they'll go with could've been better, because it had potential to be better but ended being mediocre at best...kind of letting the person down (the result falls into the middle/lower part of their average range)
if they are less bamf, they'll go with "could've been worse," because they got a semi decent result and more likely than not they would've been worse off, so they are satisfied (the result falls into the middle/top of their average range)
sidenote: greg has the most swag of all of us.
anyways, this past 4th of july weekend, i managed to go and do something i've been meaning to do for a while now...which is visit my roommate from college, grant, up north in "The City" and it wasn't just me, but my other two house mates, russ and greg. so we decided to meet up on friday, drive up to norcal, stay at the hyatt in union square and hang out with grant.
Friday: we managed to get up there around 3 am and insta-passed out.
(view from our room)
Saturday: we met up with grant and walked around the city.
we even got a hold of our other roomie from our 5th year, bassy. and kicked it with him during the afternoon.
we didn't do much of anything other than shoot the breeze, which is all we wanted to do. grant and russ made stupid bets on rock paper scissors matches. grant and russ bet on what our projected over under was on the zipline at embarcaderro center. grant and russ bet on which sex would walk over a certain staircase. it was hilarious.
after that, bassy bounced out.
the "conferencing" seats on bart.
we went and got some foods. we were going to go to the slanted door or mr. pollo, but neither were available so we decided to hit up a japanese sushi place that held 14 people, tops. oh, wow though, so good. sushi and sushi. ftw. we rouletted it for the bill. russ and i managed to dodge the bullets to enjoy a free meal. thanks guys.
no comment.
later that night we decided to go out with grants friends to club. haha. no further details.
Sunday: we woke up late and got lunchies at quiznos, headed to the golf course where we played 17 holes (had to leave early to go out again).
sidenote: i haven't swung a club since i was in nikkei juniors. i'm not even joking, i haven't golfed in forever. but OMG, i'm freaking missing out. it's so much fun. and with 2 strokes handicap for the course, i didn't do too terribly. lol. either way, we had A LOT of fun, and i am so glad we went out. i'm going to look into buying a new set of clubs. pronto. (lol impulse buys)
after that, we went back, got carls junior, rolled through the tenderloin and got ready to go out to the same place we went on saturday night.
so we went out again...hahaha, a minor details for y'all. so i wanted to expand my social agenda that evening so i asked multiple girls to dance, and it went a lot better than i expected since they all responded with the same response, "OMG yes!"
actually it was more like, "no" "no thanks" or the popular "oh, it's ok" haha, that last one is crap, it's not even saying no, it's just...i'm ok where i am.
to be honest, i kind of like it that i got those responses. there's some kind of sick pleasure i feel when i get denied. either way, i went down swinging. gg.
"could've been worse"....could've gotten the dikembe
Monday: we woke up and we went to the giants game.
they lost 5-3 and had a chance to win it in the bottom of the ninth, but blew the chance. anyways, the game was awesome. the ball park...is the best park i've been to.
hahaha, i was needling grant saying petco was better. anyways, we were doing a lap around the park, and grant saw someone. and i was like, what the heck are you looking at...and he's like, "i swear i saw jamal from slumdog over there"
[[upper deck y'all.]]
i walked passed the guy who grant thought was jamal (dev patel) again and i heard him talking in a british accent about how he doesn't want to make crap movies with a friend of his...so that was my confirmation that it is jamal! sidenote: russ doesn't like bugging celebs, but idgaf. so i got grant to come with me to try and get a picture with him. i was like, "hey i was wondering if i could get a picture with you." except his friend was like, no way, there's too many people here. dev patel put his hand on my shoulder with a "my bad" face and said, "i'm sorry man, i wish i could" lol strikeout. but at least he wasn't a jerk about it.
"could've been better."
one other thing i appreciated was that russ and me leveled out life with each other in the car. and it's not like we were fighting and needed to talk, but just in general, it was awesome. it was nice to level about my life this past year and just what's been going on with me in general. refreshing.
overall though, this was a "needed it" type of weekend. i dont think i've laughed this hard or consistently for a LONG time. i can't actually remember the last time. i haven't had this much fun in soo long. i can't remember how long ago. it was just...so worth it.
ah, i did lose a few things. russ' dad's driver sock and my "alife" gshock watch. and it was still worth it.
"serrame no turbo." <---(inside joke)
past weekend = time well spent
i'd do it all over if it cost me 2x, 3x, 4x.
cuz it was priceless.
the drive up with the guys, the drive back, the talks within the cars. the talks on bart. the talks while walking. the talks just sitting at embarcaderro. i love pissing each other off and just laughing at our reactions. that and the fact that we dont have drama. ever. hahaha, the jokes, the homo, the whole weekend...was great.
so you know that guy who gets everything he wants and life just deals him aces with girls, celebs and the like?
yah...neverme.
<3 SF. great weekend. 8.5/10
